Herbal
medicine is currently experiencing a renaissance, and this
state licensed diploma program responds to the need for trained,
qualified practitioners.
The program is designed to provide the student with a sound
foundation in botanical medicine, divided into three levels
for a total of 600 hours of classtime. Students will be
prepared for private practice or work in an office setting
with other health care practitioners such as D.C., D.O.,
M.D., Massage Therapist or Psychologist. It can also be
taken as a double diploma in conjunction with the Massage,
Reflexology, or Shiatsu diploma programs. The Clinical Herbalist
Diploma Program is directed by Richard Mandelbaum AHG.
Level I will provide the student with a foundation in materia
medica, systems approaches to herbal medicine, botany, and
clinical work. Levels II and III focus on increasing the
clinical skills required to practice as a professional herbalist.
Each level will last approximately one year, and students
can enroll for one level at a time.
